Elizabeth Goss

“I am deeply captivated by nature, especially the flora and fauna of Oregon and California. Like papercuts, ecosystems are fragile and depend on thousands of tiny connections to hold together. But when treated with care, they can be preserved and enjoyed for generations. By exploring natural themes in a media as delicate as paper, I hope to draw attention both to how stunningly beautiful the natural world can be and how much it needs our care and respect.”

An honors graduate of Syracuse University’s illustration program, Elizabeth Goss has been working as a professional illustrator and papercutter for the last ten years. Her artwork has appeared in books, galleries, TV spots, and advertisements. She is a proud member of the Guild of American Papercutters and has previously served on their board as a VP of Exhibits and the VP of Community Outreach. She also loves to teach. Her papercutting workshops offer a unique path to creative exploration and are a great way to learn about negative space, composition, shape, and color.
